Pixaki’s reference layers enable you to import high-resolution images from your photo library. You can resize, reposition, and draw pixels over the imported image on the canvas. Multiple reference layers can be used simultaneously, and their opacity can be adjusted to allow drawing underneath.

Create animated pixel art effortlessly with Pixaki's advanced features. Per-frame duration and color-shifted onion skinning provide the tools needed to bring your creations to life.

The app supports up to 50 layers per frame, allowing users to adjust the opacity of each layer. This facilitates the creation of lighting and translucency effects. Reordering layers is as simple as drag and drop.

Pixaki offers fully customizable palettes. While it comes with pre-installed palettes, users can create and save their own. Imported palettes from other software or downloaded in .aco, .pal, and .gpl formats can also be used.

With Pixaki's line tool, you can easily draw perfectly straight lines. The tool can be configured to lock lines to angles used in isometric art. Rectangle and ellipse tools assist in creating basic shapes that can be automatically filled with color. Users can lock the aspect ratio to create squares and circles.

Color replacement becomes more efficient with Pixaki's advanced color replacement tool. It allows users to replace specific colors throughout all layers or only on the layer being worked on. Erase mode removes all pixels of a selected color, making it a valuable tool when working with limited color palettes.

Pixaki streamlines the selection process with a simple and intuitive interface. Cut, copy, paste, move, flip, and rotate elements can be easily performed. Tiling an area with an image from the clipboard is as simple as touch and hold on the paste icon.

Pixaki is compatible with various desktop and mobile apps, as well as game engines and social media platforms for easy import and export of artwork:
